How AI credits work
Each AI-powered action uses credits, including Smart Text, Smart Headings, AI Assistant interactions, AI Importer, and other AI-generated content requests.
The number of credits used depends on the complexity of the action. For example, importing a simple design may use a few hundred credits, while a complex layout may use thousands.
Credit allocations and current AI pricing vary by plan and are listed on the Unlayer pricing page.
Paid plans may provide one-time evaluation credits when AI is enabled for the first time.
When your allocation is used, you can add credits from Console → Billing → Add-ons if credit packs are available for your plan. Otherwise, AI usage resumes when the next billing period begins.

Open Usage in the left-hand menu.
Review your current credit balance and historical consumption.
AI credits are separate from email or batch volume charges. Pricing does not add charges or limits based on the volume of emails or batches sent.
