Asset Restrictions Based on Bandwidth Usage

Written by Saifullah Bhatti
Updated this week

Unlayer has introduced a new asset restriction policy that applies to both free embed users and paid plan users. Restrictions are based on bandwidth consumed rather than the amount of data stored. This means that your files and assets are never deleted, but delivery will be restricted once a bandwidth threshold is reached.

How it works

When a project exceeds its bandwidth limit, assets are restricted and will stop being served. No files are deleted. The restriction is purely on delivery.

Free embed users:

Free embed users have a bandwidth limit tied to their billing period. Once the limit is reached, assets will be restricted until the start of the next billing cycle, at which point delivery resumes automatically.

Paid plan users

Paid plan users have a 1 TB bandwidth limit per billing cycle. This change applies to all paid plans. Like free users, no assets are deleted when the limit is hit, only the delivery of assets is restricted until the next billing period.

Key points to remember

  • Restrictions are based on bandwidth used, not data stored.

  • No assets are ever deleted when a limit is reached.

  • For free embed users and paid plan users, the limit resets at the start of the next billing cycle.
